Sandy Leftwich

Church: Church of Christ - Cadillac

Nominated by Dona of McBain
Sandy is a true gem because she loves God and is not afraid to show it. She is a devoted friend, mentor, mother, and wife. She offers gentle encouragement when one is struggling, a quiet shoulder when one needs to vent, firm, but loving, words when one needs to be set back on the right path. She cries with you through your heartaches, and celebrates your successes. She asks for little, and gives endlessly and unconditionally, with a pure heart. I am honored to have her as a friend and sister in Christ.

Beth Brown

Church: North Oaks Community Church - Clarkston

Nominated by Robin of Ortonville
Beth Brown is a very special lady. She supported her husband as our new pastor 10 years ago, moving from Florida all the way to Michigan. Winters are now a much different experience for her!! Although Beth was very close to her Florida family, she makes the most of her Michigan family. Right away, she started reaching out to others and getting to know them with her warm, caring spirit. She has become very involved in our Children's ministry at church, and has also gone as a chaperone and active participant on our out of state Youth Group Mission trips. Beth and our Pastor, Steve, have 4 children, 3 boys and a girl. Beth is such a good sport. She has hosted many "airsoft war" slumber parties for her sons and their friends, as she knows they thoroughly enjoy that. She has even taken up cross country skiing and seems to enjoy our Michigan winters!! Beth is a homeschool teacher to her daughter, and puts much love, time and effort into educating her, and balances her time wisely along with all of her church involvement. Beth is such a laid-back person. Nothing seems to phase her, and she accepts everyone as she meets them. She is a true inspiration and example of Christian love to me.

Julie Hergert

Church: First United Brethren Church - Lansing

Nominated by Scott of Lansing
I am writing this about my wife. She is a wonderful helper. What makes her really great is her commitment to her family. She is the mother of 9 children. She also homeschools 7 of the children, the two youngest ones are not old enough for school yet. She is a great mother to our children. She is also in charge of the Angelfood Ministry at our church. She makes sure that people are available to take orders two times a month, and she organizes many for distribution day. She comes to church every Sunday ready to worship and doing all that she can to make sure our 9 children are ready for worship as well.

Jean Hill

Church: New Beginnings Ministries - Hillman

Nominated by Jeff of Hillman
jean is a special person in the fact that she stood by her husband when he decided to try ministry work again. her husband had retired from the ministry and when our church needed a new pastor she accepted that he was taking the position even tho it was two hours away. she has been a wonderful addition to our church. She helps with the childrens church, helps pass out bulletins when the scheduled greeters are unable to do so. she hosted a luncheon for the congregation after church one Sunday last month. she is involved with womens groups and helps get speakers to come for our ladies retreats. when not at church she works for a school where she lives.

Tammy Tuthill

Church: New Beginnings - Lansing

Nominated by Julie of Grand Ledge
Tammy Tuthill is a an example of God's love for His children. She is a very devoted mother of three,a wife, and first lady of our body of believers. She encourages and seeks the Lord with a passion. Tammy has such a heart for souls, she loves very deeply, she is a woman I admire and have learned from, just by her being herself. She is not one way at church and somehting else at home. She is very real and loving. She is young and full of life. And has been on the potters wheel in her own life, and has let the Lord mold her and form her into what He has designed to her be. And I feel SOOOOO Blessed and honored to be under her leading. She deserves more than we could give her. She is a Good and Faithfull servent.

Nominated by Tamara of Portland
In the last few months that I have been going to New Beginings I have met some extrodinary people. Tammy, Pastor Dave's wife is one of them. She is the most sincere, genuine person that I have ever met. When she talks I feel as though I am the only one in the room. She has a love for God and her family that exudes from soul. In fact she loves her husband so much that she did an extraordinary feat. When the Tuthills found out that they were expecting their first child Pasture Dave had to sell his 67 mustang that his dad and him had worked so hard on together. This car did mean allot to Dave and it was vey hard to have to sell it but he did it for his family. Fourteen years passed and Tammy decided to track that car down for Dave's 40th birthday. Secretly, she enlisted the help of her brother a car salesman. Though it was not an easy search given the time spand of fourteen years, the car was found. So for Pastor Dave's 40th birthday he got a big surprise, his beloved Mustang back. It's been a few years since then but when Pastor Dave takes his car to car shows he puts a letter that he wrote that tells of the search and the amazing woman who found the car for him in the windshield of the car for everybody to read.

Angie DeVilder

Church: Monroe Christian Church

Nominated by Lori of Newport
I have slowly crawled out of a meager existence, deeply embedded with drugs and all that come with street life. This has been only possible due to the love of my Lord, and His working through my pastor’s wife. She has so many wonderful qualities. She has also been a great support to me during a tough, but exciting time of transition in my life.
Let me tell you why I appreciate her so much:
Besides being a great mother and wife, which all can see, I treasure that she is a personal friend of mine. She just reaches in and does what needs to be done, and in so doing, quite naturally acts as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Her passion has been to homeschool her children, which she has. But due to recent financial difficulties of our small but powerful congregation, she has had to start working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at a local YMCA. This has been very tough on her, yet she still keeps a smile on her face and a positive outlook on life. Her children now attend a charter school that is strong on moral values. But I know that they have already been truly taught of the Lord by their mom and dad. Angie has instilled in these four children what it means to love and live for the Lord in their daily lives.
Because she is a mother who is very protective of her kids, it means more than anyone could know, that she has also entrusted me with her precious little jewels. I have been so blessed by these kids. I never had the honor and privilege of witnessing a functioning family, never mind one that lived for Jesus. And more than that, I have been welcomed into their lives as friend, babysitter, and even as a spiritual aunt (my pastor says)!
I did of course have to earn this by making my own life changes and being consistent in them, but I know personally that this world system is not even close to being as forgiving and understanding of people like me, as she is. Her love and trust in me has allowed me to grow. In turn, I can now help others in similar need.
Thru all of this I have started understanding firsthand the love and grace of God, and that He truly desires a relationship with me. As a result, I have grown in all areas of my life. I thank the good Lord for faithful servants like Angie DeVilder. I owe so much to her, and her family.

Linda Reser

Church: Fowlerville United Brethren in Christ

Nominated by Celia of Fowlerville
Linda exemplifies what it means to be Christ-like. We at our church all strive to follow her example. She is kind and gentle; always willing to help where ever it is needed. I would like to thank her for all that she does for us, especially our Children's Ministry. She and her husband, Pastor Jeff, work very hard to put together an amazing vacation bible school each summer. We work as a team, and she keeps us organized and moving ahead. Linda is also a wonderful wife and mother. She cares and supports her family, including her one son, Nate, in the most loving way. Lastly, Linda is a great friend and I know that if I ever need anything, she will always be there. Thank you Linda!

Cathy Hale

Church: Bath Baptist Church

Nominated by Theresa of Holt
I nominate my Pastor's wife for this wonderful reward for many reasons. I believe my Pastore's wife, Cathy, deserves this wonderful gift because she is a wonderful gift from God. Cathy is so happy all the time and works so hard in all she does. Cathy is a great example of a Godly woman, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and most of all sister in Christ. I believe my Pastor and his wife, Cathy, deserve more than any material thing that can be given. They have shown what it means to give their life to the Lord and in return has shown and motivated our whole church to do the same for the Lord. Nothing short of amazing is this woman and the love she compells. I thank God often for the love and acceptance she has given me and my family as new commers to Bath Baptist Church. She is a great mother figure and has taken my siblings and I under her wing as new graduates of MSU, newly weds, and new residents of the Greater Lansing area. I speak for a lot of people when I say "Thank You Cathy for giving your life to the Lord and showing us the meaning of what it takes to be a true Child of God".

Kate Studer

Church: Abundant Life Tabernacle, Grayling

Nominated by Matthew of Grayling
She does whatever she can to help you out. If you are in trouble, or need some help, she is there to help you out. Whether it's financially, encouragement, prays with you from time to time. She is definitely a mother figure for the congregation and she genuinely cares and is compassionate for everybody without partiality. She is a woman of God!

Nominated by Rebekka of Grayling
My Pastor's wife is special because she is such a lovely lady. She came to Michigan from Wisconsin because the Lord was leading her to. She left her family, and friends to come and marry my Pastor. She does a lot of work in the church, she plans events for us, takes care of our Pastor, and much much more. She is so gentle, and kind. She is always there for us when we need her. She makes everything so wonderful, you can't help but be happy when she is near. She is a such a good person. You know that she prays for you everyday, because she cares! I've never heard her speak down on someone. If she saw something wrong she would help as best as she could. If you needed something, she would be there. She has always had a kind heart ever since I met her. She is one the people I look up to the most. She is just a all around wonderful woman! And that is why my Pastor's wife is special.

Nominated by Sara of Grayling
What about her isn't special? She is a kind, gentle and very loving person, but, she is not afraid to correct you if she sees you going astray. But this too is done with great kindness and mercy. She is always presenting us with new projects to help the needy. Like now she just started a new baby program to help a local un-wed young Mother's ministry. All year round she reminds us to be praying for those less fortunate, the depressed and lonely. She left her family and friends in Wisconsin and came here to Michigan to marry our Pastor. She has struggled with missing her grandchildren growing up, but all the while she knows she is where the Lord wants her to be and she rejoices in that fact. She opens her home to atleast 1 other family at Christmas time. I could go on an on about all the wonderful things she does, but, that would take hours. She loves the Lord, our Pastor and our Congregation with her whole heart.

She has supported her husband Brad (our pastor) unconditionally allowing him to invest all the time and energy he needs to make an impact, all the while making a huge impact on everyone associated with her. On top of all that she is raising 3 children and somehow finds time to help out at many of our church activities. She doesn’t get thanked nearly enough for all she does and some pearls would maybe show her how much she means to so many!

Barb Heyd

Church: Cascades Wesleyan Church, Jackson

Nominated by John of Jackson
My pastor’s wife, Barb Heyd, is one of a kind. She is special to our church for so many reasons. She is devoted to Christ, strong in her faith, and not afraid to let anyone know it. Perhaps the most special thing for her is the heart she has for children. She has opened up her home on Sunday mornings to the children of our church—from third grade on down to three years of age. The kids can hardly wait to see what wacky adventure she has planned for them. Barb raised three sons of her own. She knows how to keep their attention. Barb isn’t afraid to get down on the ground with the kids, play in the dirt, and even get slime on her hands—whatever it takes to show them what the love of Christ is about. Barb’s life isn’t perfect; Barb isn’t perfect. And she knows it. She is quick to point out her own faults and give the praise to Jesus for each hurdle she overcomes. This is a big help with the younger couples in the church—seeing that the pastor’s wife is has made mistakes yet is still loved by God helps them to believe they are not beyond salvation. The love that Barb has for others is evident in every smile she shares. She truly believes that no one should be left behind, and does everything in her power to see everyone she has met on Earth in Heaven one day.

Mary Dickie

Church: Berean Baptist Church, Grand Blanc

Nominated by Debbie of Grand Blanc
My Pastor's wife does the best job of taking care of her husband, so he can be the best Pastor God wants him to be. I have know her for 27 years and she has always put her family first. It's easy to get so busy in the church that you neglect your husband and family. She does find time to visit the aged in Nursing homes and kiss them and hug them as if they were her own loved ones. She takes flowers to the hospital and babysits for those at the last minute who need her. She really does show God's love to everyone she meets by passing out tracts and engaging them in conversation that will point them to Christ. She has raised five children into adulthood who have accomplished many great things. The most important thing she has done is to live her life as an example to us all and let God's love show through her to the world!

Jessie Crockett

Church: Grand River Community Church, Leslie

Nominated by Sarah of Leslie
Jessie is special to me and to our church because of her "life song". She lives her faith on her sleeve. She has a way of witnessing to people that is so unassuming. She runs our local outreach. she is always willing to help you, even if it involves sacrificing her time with her own family. I would not be the christian i am today without her example of joy in christ. I remember when we had a young adult group come to our church and give their testimonies and a small concert. It was a group of inner-city people who have had many, many struggles and tragedies in their life. Jessie was the one afterwards who encouraged them and made them all feel loved and so appreciated. She has a way of showing Jesus' love to others that is genuine and from her heart.

Tonya Williams

Church: Trinity Church, Lansing

Nominated by Carla of East Lansing
Tonya Williams has been a pastor's wife for many years and recently her husband took the position of Senior Pastor at Trinity church. As a regular member of Trinity, I can only imagine the enormous challenges there are to being a pastor's wife at such a large church. My prayer for her is that she will be blessed continually. I think this would be a great start, winning this contest, to help reduce the stress of moving and taking on this great opportunity to serve the Lansing area. Everytime, I have spoken with Tonya, she is gracious, and positive, and very friendly. I like how approachable she is and I have watched her as she watches her husband when he's preaching...and I can see that she supports him and is able to receive spiritual teaching from him. She's a great new role model to the women at Trinity and I hope she Wins.

Lindsey Rohde

Church: Davison Missionary Church

Nominated by Sheryl of Davison
It is such a treat to have watched Lindsey as a teen, then a college student, and now a pastor's wife. Lindsey is a beautiful christian lady with the voice of an angel. She is a new mom and teaches part time. She takes part in our worship ministry and sings solos sometimes. She truly uses the gifts God has given her to bless others. She loves and supports her husband in his ministry as well.

Tayana Holland

Church: Epicenter of Worship, Lansing

Nominated by Brittiany of Lansing
Tayana Holland affectionately known as Sister Toy is one of the most humble women you will ever meet. She has a meek spirit and is always willing to sacrifice herself for the benefit of others. There is a scripture in the Bible that says that the greatest among you should be the servant of all. I think this scripture accurately describes Sister Toy. Without regard for herself or her family, Sister Toy has faithfully served the thousands of students across Michigan college campuses including the students of: Vision Christian Campus Michigan (MSU), V.O.C. (Lansing Community College), Place of Praise (Western), Focus Campus Ministry (Kettering University, Flint) and Grand Valley State University (Grand Rapids). She and her family drove from Flint for over two years to meet the needs of these ministries through weekly Bible studies. Sister Toy has a strong desire to see people succeed, especially women. Personally, as a member of the Women's Ministry under Sister Toy's leadership I have learned valuable skills as I transitioned from being a single woman into being a married woman. Sister Toy counseled me through the duration of my engagement period and in true Sister Toy fashion served me on the day of my wedding. I could not have imagined surviving that stage of my life without her and am truly grateful for having an example of what it means to be not only a conduit for God's love but to also be an embodiment of what it means to bring the love of God to the world within your reach.

Nominated by Elon of Holt
Pastor Tayana Holland is a remarkable woman of strength, character and integrity. In 2006 Pastor Tayana and her husband Pastor Sean accepted a call to full time ministry to start a church with a small group of college students at Michigan State University. She traveled several times in a week from Flint to Lansing to minister to college students on the campus of MSU. From the first day she accepted God's calling to pastor, Tayana makes herself available morning, noon and night. She has mentored and ministered to young women who have been abused, abandoned, and discarded. She is a meek and powerful example of compassion and patience. Not only does she pastor full time but she, with her husband, are raising 3 young children and never miss a service, or an opportunity to be a blessing to the Lansing community and international communities abroad.

Carole Combs

Church: Faith Church, Waterford

Nominated by Sara of Grand Blanc
Her life is one of service. Not only does she serve her husband, children and grandchildren, but she serves the church. She heads up the women's ministry we call WOW (Women of the Word). She teaches, guides and gives much to the kindgom of God. Our pastor preaches on Saturday night and 7 times on Sunday and at 4 locations. She is active in our women's ministry which encompases all 4 locations. Our shy, soft spoken Carole has pushed herself out of her comfort zone and onto the stage to teach and speak to hundreds of women. She is an encouragement and godly example to all of us and most of all she is real! She shares her concerns, hurts and struggles and uses her experiences to encourage others for Christ. She is full of grace, integrity and wisdom and when you meet her, you can tell. Every year pastor and his wife host the couples conference where they teach and encourage the couples at the conference. We are abundantly blessed to have her. She is a jewel, a pearl.

Nominated by Sarah of Grand Blanc
She's very supportive of her husband and how busy he is to pastor the 4 churches he pastors. She's a real blessing, and a very sweet lady, and really cares about people! She deserves this blessing!

Sarita Vander Velde

Shirley Moody

Church: Joy Fellowship A.G, Indian River

Nominated by Bekah of Indian River
I am sure that it is not allowed that I do this since she is my mom, but I wanted to tell you why I think she is special. My Mom is not always the first one at church or always that last one there. But she is always there when no one can see her. Praying for my Dad, and all who enter the church by name, praying a blessing for them and there familys. I remember my Dad would get the phone calls at three in the morning when he had to leave, my Mom would be up praying for him untill he got home.(and still do'es) she is always there when she gets the phone call from the single mom who doe's not think she can do it anymore, she will stay with her or at times the child would stay with us for months till the mom could get the help she needed. I have also got to see the part of church that NO one want to talk about! the gossip! most of it toward the pastors wife and family. but yet she will still hug you tell you she loves you, and is praying for you. (and mean it!) she is an amazing woman and pastors wife, but most of all a friend!

Joyce Brenner

Church: Carleton United Methodist Church

Nominated by Joanne of Carleton
Joyce and Pastor Bob came to our church eight years ago. Joyce's enthusiasm, humor, and unlimited energy can't be beat. With a musical background, she has led the holiday choir cantatas and directs the bell choir. Joyce has opened up the world of quilting at the church and under her leadership, many quilts have been made for Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. Joyce's faith can be seen in her service to others. She is a wonderful, caring person and friend.

Rita Knight

Church: Faith Missionary Church, Flint Township

Nominated by Dana of Swartz Creek
Rita has a true servant's heart, from putting on funeral dinners to serving breakfast on Sunday mornings. She is classy, has a great laugh and has a humble heart. She is an encourager. She is real, so she can relate to others during whatever their need. Rita and our Pastor gave their hearts to the Lord at age 18 and have truely committed their lives to the Lord, in doing His will. Man is not successful in life unless he has a good woman by his side and Rita is exactly that. She recently cared for a Pastor who had retired and was in his 90s, in the last years of his life and she presently has her Mother-in-law in her home caring for her. She truley is a great example of what a christian woman can be. I am thankful to God for the blessing she is in my life.

Karen Sterk

Church: REHOBOTH REFORMED CHURCH, McBain

Nominated by Brenda of McBain
Karen is very special because of multiple things. First she is very down to earth with a warm smile, and friendly personality that anyone be honored to call her friend. She is a incredible Mother of 5 boys that represent her dedication with values and morals that stand out among the other youth. She is a dedicated Wife that supports her husband in his ministry and church including multiple activities, volunteer work and Sunday school classes among too many other activities not able to be listed here. She extends herself to the community involving herself in the school system in many ways including classrooms, sports, and projects throughout the year. We are very blessed that God brought Karen to our Church (well maybe that was Pastor Dave), Community and personal lives.

Karen is a woman of quiet strength. She takes her role as wife and mother of 5 very active, athletic boys seriously (2 of whom are now in out-of-state colleges) and that is her number one priority. She supports her husband in his work by providing a home that is a haven for him and is protective of their family unit. With her serene nature, she is the backbone of their family.
Within the church family she is also a good friend to many. She is trustworthy, authentic and a dependable. Karen is an excellent listener.

Nominated by Barbara of McBain
Our Pastor's Wife is a wonderful lady who deserves so much in life. She is the only woman in the home of 6 men as she and Pastor Dave have 5 boys. Anyone in a home with all men certainly deserves to win this gift. She is a gentle spirit who loves the Lord and what a gift she has given Lucas Rehoboth, Please accept this nomination for Karen Sterk!!

Gloria Banks

Church: New Creation Church of God, Flint

Nominated by Nancy of Mount Morris
First Lady Gloria Banks, is the sweetest person you could meet. She has time to listen to you, talk with you and pray with you, even though she has problems of her own, she always has time for you. She has a precious granddaughter, Jaiden, who has lost most of her hearing, but Sister Gloria takes the time to work with Jaiden and help her learn to speak. Sister Gloria is also part of the Love, Hope, Faith dance team. When she dances, you can see her face shine, as if she is dancing for no one else but God. She does have a shoe fetish, according to Pastor Banks, but I don't think anyone looks at her feet, they are busy looking at her radiant smile.

Teresa Glantz

Church: Davison Missionary Church

Nominated by Leah of Davison
She's smart, uproariously funny, and one of the most loving, kind-hearted women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Ever since I met her, she's treated me with the care and love she shows her own children. Not only does she maintain a job, a home, and a family, but she also gives sometimes funny, always moving, and thought-provoking messages to the women of our church every Friday night. Her testimony of growing up in a broken, abusive home, and surviving her brother's suicide brings tears to our eyes and conviction to our hearts, and she's always so willing to do as the Lord asks of her. She's a beautiful woman with a true servant's heart, and she deserves all the recognition in the world.

Nominated by Barbara of Davison
Teresa is a very special lady. She has quite a story behind her journey to Christ and she's not ashamed to share it. She gives talks about her journey and is a very gifted speaker. She also leads a Sunday School class. She is part of our district's Women's program and is on our own church's women's board. She gives different talks each month that both influence, direct and inspire us. She also holds a full time job on top of all of this. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to talk and pray on a moments notice. I can not think of a better candidate for this gift than her.

Nominated by Sheryl of Davison
Teresa loves and supports her husband Pastor Chris Glantz in his ministry. She is a great mom as well. Her special gift is in speaking and sharing her testimony with others, especially women. She is our main speaker at our Good Friday's Coffee Cafe, hosted by our women's ministry at church. She also speaks at other churches and events when invited. We are grateful that God has blessed our church with such a special pastor's wife. :)

Carol Stout

Church: First Church of the Nazarene, Jackson

Nominated by Dena of Jackson
Carol Stout is a wonderful , genuine, honest person! She works at her church , with me, and is a very important part of our staff, she is in charge of all the publications. She is very helpful to all that know her and wise beyond her years, that is why when we need her advice on certain things she is always there for us. She is a very funny person and makes us laugh quite often! She is one of the most selfless people I know always putting others and their needs before herself. Thank you for your time!

Patty Davies

Church: Pennway Church of God, Lansing

Nominated by Tracy of Charlotte
The Davies joined Pennway Church of God in April 2008. Prior to that, we had been without a Senior Pastor for nearly 2 years so as you can imagine, she had a bit of work cut out for her. She has taken on multiple roles but the 2 that I most respect is taking on the task of forming a Childrens Church during the main service and re starting the Vacation Bible School. Her very bubbly and "forward" if you will, personality has brought much energy and motivation to our church, particularly the women of our church. Starting fresh at a new church miles away from you prior church must be very difficult and Patty has handled it with sich grace, she never missed a beat, it was like she was there all along. THANKS PATTY FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!

Jill Lindenberg

Church: Wesley United Methodist Church, Ishpeming

Nominated by Judy of Ishpeming
We are so fortunate to have Jill as part of our Congregation. Jill Chairs our mission program, often does childrens time during the service, has helped set up a young mother's Bible Study and more recently helped set up a Bible study for moms with older children. Jill's real passion are high school students -- she subs at several of the area schools and has a real connection with the Senior High students and Pastor Scott and Jill have open there home every Sunday evening to the Senior High for games and devotions. Jill is such a blessing, greets everyone with a welcoming smile. She radiates the joy of the Lord.

Nominated by Trina of Ishpeming
Jill is a wonderful, outgoing, loving, caring person. She has helped to start up several women's bible studies - each to help different women at different stages of life. She is very active in our women's group and missions outreach programs. She also helps with the exchange student program through the high schools. She, and our pastor, have 2 sons that are in college and a daughter in 6th grade. They have taken an exchange student for the past 2 years and this last year Jill was very instrumental in helping place several other students. Jill is also a substitute teacher and subs at many of our local schools. I am glad that Jill and her husband Scott have come to our church and community.

Ellen Weber

Church: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Munising

Nominated by Becky of Munising
Ellen Weber is so special to us. John and Ellen have been serving at our church for 9 years and she has been a blessing since the day she arrived. Ellen is the "typical" pastors wife and so much more. She is quiet and unassuming so that you wouldn't notice things that she has done unless you looked carefully because she never wants attention drawn to herself. She works tirelessly making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Ellen and a few women friends get together on Mondays and quilt. They also make prayer shawls to give to people in the community who are ill. They send these shawls out with lots of prayer to each recipient to wrap themselves in for comfort when they are not feeling well. Ellen makes beautiful banners for our small church to enjoy. Our church cannot afford to buy these banners but if we find one that we like Ellen can make one for us to enjoy and they are so beautiful! Whenever it is Ellens turn to make "treats" for coffee hour there is a long line at the counter because she is famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls. Ellen has organized a dinner that is held at a nearby mission congregation. The small church and town are struggling so other churches have taken turns serving a meal on Sunday afternoons to the people in this community. Ellen never hesitates to cook, bake, sew, quilt, or do any chore necessary behind the scenes and never asks for a thank you or a pat on the back for a job well done. She is amazing and we love her dearly!

Kathy Atherton

Church: Imagine This LLC, Grand Ledge

Nominated by Rachel of Lansing
Kathy Atherton is a very sweet special Lady, she works full time at the Eaton Cnty School District with Severly Handicapped kids age 16 - 26 years of age, not only does she work full time with these Special Kids, she also works with the Sunday School kids both morning and evening services (we have two full services, morning & evening) she plans out fun things for the kids, including puppet plays, and she is always finding something fun for the Women to do for Ladies Night the 1st and 3rd Fridays, PLUS she cooks main meals whenever there is a potluck, a party or when we had our Christmas dinner. Her Mom passed away during that time and she baked two hams, two turkeys and did other side dishes for our Christmas dinner for the church, without any help from anyone else. She truly is a very Special Pastor's wife and we truly love her, she is very deserving of this jewelry. Thank you, Rachel

Cheryl Slusher

Church: Southwest Church of the Nazarene, Gregory

Nominated by Amy of Stockbridge
Previously to Septmeber of 2002, Ms. Cheryl was our piano player. She loved to play and was wonderful at it. Then on September 12th she was in a very serious accident. She had broken several bones, from face to ankles, and the doctor's didn't expect her to live. She, gratefully, survived. The doctor's then said that she would probably never walk again. She is walking with a cane, and can walk short distances without it. She is a talking walking miracle. She heads up our Wednesday night ladies prayer meeting. She is such an inspiration to all of her congregation. I don't think anyone could meet her and not believe that there is a God.

Karen Smith

Church: Lifesong of Snover

Nominated by Kimberly of Marlette
A SHORT PARAGRAPH??!!
KAREN IS SUCH A WODERFUL PERSON THAT I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO START. SHE IS NOT ONLY A WODERFUL PERSON, BUT SHE IS A WONDERFUL WIFE AND MOTHER AS WELL. SHE IS OUR PASTOR'S BACK BONE IN SHORT. SHE OFFERS HIM SUCH SUPPORT AND LOVE THAT EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEM, YOU KNOW THEY ARE IN LOVE. SHE SPENDS ALL OF HER TIME WITH HIM. THEY WORK TOGETHER NOT ONLY IN THE CHURCH, BUT ALSO EVERY DAY AT THE SKILL CENTER HERE IN SANILAC COUNTY. SHE SPENDS ALL OF HER "SPARE" TIME (AS IF SHE HAS ANY) WITH OUR CHURCH. SHE IS EVERYONE'S FRIEND. WE ALL LOVE HER. IF YOU MEET HER YOU WILL TOO. SHE DESERVES MORE THAN WHAT YOUR CONTEST IS OFFERING, BUT THIS IS A WONDERFUL START.

Nominated by Sharon of Marlette
KAREN IS A LOVING, GIVING CARING PASTOR'S WIFE. SHES THERE FOR HER HUSBAND WHENEVER IS NEEDED. AND CERTAINLY THERE FOR ANYONE IN THE CHURCH. SHE IS ALWAYS THERE WITH HER GODLY SMILE. WE LOVE HER, AND WOULD TOO.

Nominated by Heather of Sandusky
Would just like to say Karen has the heart of a pastors wife. She serves in the church. She loves her husband and family as well as her church family, but most importantly she loves her Lord. Anyone who talks to her can see that she wears this love on her sleeve. God has made her beautiful both on the inside and outside. I love her and am so glad that the Lord has blessed me to have her in my life. I just want her to know that she is loved and appreciated.

Andrea Wheeler

Church: Moddersville Reformed Church

Nominated by Linda of McBain
Andrea Wheeler (wife of Pastor Jerry Wheeler) is special because she overflows with music and caring toward everyone. She’s a musician and a full-time teacher, full-time pastor’s wife, and full-time mother attending basket ball games, apparently with the ability to be in 2 or 3 places at once. She can sing and play the piano and the flute and throw together choir music or last minute special offertories that honor God surely as much as her life does. At the piano she can change keys as needed or play by ear if I go to her with a song I want to learn, handing her a sheet with nothing but words and chords on it. She can hit the high notes and direct choir from her spot at the piano, turning the pages of her music with one hand while the other flows up and down everywhere at once on the keyboard. She shares her talents so freely that we’re spoiled. Most of all, she cares about everyone, guarding our feelings and bringing out the best in all of us. She once put her hands on my shoulders and called me “little sister,” and ever since that day she has been my big sister. I am sure that all of us at church think of Andrea as our sister, proud of her and full of gratitude for how she draws us together into such a rich church family.

Julie Dietzel

Church: Caro Assembly of God

Nominated by Dove of Caro
Our Pastor's wife is exceptional! She works full time outside of her home to help support her family. She is available to answer calls from anyone in our congergation. She works part time helping with secretarial duties at the church. She also helps organize events. She works with the childrens program and helps in the nursery also.
Our youth pastor at our church recently moved on to a church closer to his home town and she without blinking started helping out with the youth! Not only helping but stepping in to fill in doing wednesday night services.
All of this and she still manages to take care of her husband and 3 wonderful children!

Heidi Wetherald

Church: Garfield Country Church, Fife Lake

Nominated by Michelle of Fife Lake
I must say we are truly blessed to have a Pastor's wife as special as Heidi. Heidi returned "home" to Garfield Country Church about five years ago. She grew up in the very same Church (her father was once Pastor there as well)! Garfield Country Church is small with perhaps 30-40 people attending each week. Heidi has worked hard in partnership with her husband to reach out to our small community and welcome new people into the Church. Heidi also immerses herself in the community by offering piano and voice lessons. She is a very talented young woman! Within the past few years, several new babies have been born into the Church and Heidi, having two small children herself, has worked hard to develop a warm and welcoming Sunday school program for them as they grow up in Christ!
She is a true friend with a big heart always there for you when you need her. My family had only been attending the Church for a couple of years before Pastor Seth and Heidi moved in. I grew up in the Catholic Church but was searching for a closer relationship with Christ. Heidi and I have become quite good friends since we are relatively close in age and her friendship and support have encouraged me to keep growing in that relationship. We have attended Bible studies together and I have learned so much from her own walk with God. I am so happy to say that I now have a renewed outlook on my relationship with the Lord and I am positive that I am not the first person that Heidi has encouraged.
Heidi's love of Christ makes her the lovely person that she is. He truly lives through her and again we are so blessed to have her in our Church family:)

Maria Miller

Church: The Father's House, Brighton

Nominated by Debbie of Hartland
We at The Father's House in Brighton have lost our pastor almost exactly one year ago to a severe battle with cancer. His wife has been an amazing example of a Godly wife in how she took such awesome care of her husband with such Grace and Faith. Even when he passed away she was a strong support for her congregation, putting them first as to how "we are all going to still stand strong in our faith". She has taken over a lot of the church duties until a new pastor is elected and I know it has really stretched her physically, mentally and spiritually. She has created such a spirit of unity in our church. It has been a year and a lot of people still can't believe how well we're all doing as a church, they say our "love and unity is amazing". It's only because of her strength and faith in the Lord that she passed on the all of us. So, that is why my Pastor's wife is especially special because of all that she has gone through and still stands so strong in her faith. What a living example of Christ she is to her congregation and to all those who know her.

Nominated by Tina of Howell
Maria has been a pillar of strength for our church for over 10 yrs. Most recently though, our Pastor, Brent Miller, her husband, went home to be with the Lord in Jan 2009. This was devestating to us as a church but especially for Maria and her family. Through her loss she has shown us how faith in Jesus Christ can pull you through any obsticle. She has had to take on so many pastorial duties and she has done this with such grace and supernatural strength. She has helped direct us as a body and stayed focused on serving the Lord. I so appreciated her as a person, a friend and as a godly woman. We love you very much and I hope you will consider her for the gift of pearls because she is a pearl in our eyes.

Nominated by Christie of St. Charles
Maria is a very strong lady. Pastor and Maria came to our church over 10 years ago. We lost our pastor one year ago to a hard battle with cancer. She has stood in many different roles in the church, from being the pastors wife to heading up the children's ministery, she is a mighty prayer warior, and now she is filling in as Pastor, unitl we find a new one, and she is doing an excellent job at it too! She is a great example of a godly wife, mother, women, mentior, and friend. She is always been there for you when you needed her, even while she was taking take of her husband. Everything she and her family have endured this past year they still stand strong in thier faith in Jesus.

Jennell Houts

Church: First Assembly of God, Saint Johns

Nominated by Carrie of Saint Johns
Jennell is the kindest woman I know. She lives her life for God and her family. She is the leader of the Girls Only Group, for teenagers. She is a role model for the teen girls, not only a role model but she has a geuine caring for each and every one of the girls, she offers advice and how to deal with situations that some of us "regular" moms can not explain to the teens, nor do teens actually listen to their own parents, our advice isn't cool, but Ms Jennell's advice is always right, (and it is usually what us "regular" moms would offer). Jennell is "normal" she admits to her mistakes and is not afraid to reach out for help when she needs it. As a mother, she has 4 children and they are all being raised in a family that puts God first. She is the most amazing woman.

Sally Sudmann

Church: Davison Missionary

Nominated by Allen of Davison
Sally has been the pastor's wife here at Davison for almost 20 years. Her genuine care and relaxed demeanor puts everyone to easy. She is a very gifted singer. Her singing calms every heart and her laughter brightens the eye of all who are around her. She has been involved in many facets of the church from music and children's ministries to helping answer phones and always available to pray.

SSHhhh! don't tell her - I nominated her - I hope it doesn't disqualify her, since I'm her husband - but she's fantastic, and I couldn't minister without her love and support.

Nominated by Sheryl of Davison
Sally is a very strong christian lady as well as a prayer warrior. Sally makes you feel loved and welcome. She is great with children and helps with the Wed. night children's ministry and cares for children during the day in her home. She has a beautiful voice and she frequently is part of our worship team. She is a new grandma, and loves to have her granddaughter in church with her. I appreciate the example of transparency and love that Sally shows to us all.

Nominated by Kay of Davison
I would like to nominate Sally because she is such a great support to her husband. She is always there to do whatever needs to be done. She works in the nursery. She is on the worship team. She helps keep our ROTC children's program organized. She sees a need and is there to help. If her husband is under a lot of stress, she stays calm and helps to find solutions. She does not talk bad about him ,but supports him in whatever he does. She is a loving mother, but does not spoil her kids. She wants them to be strong and able to stand on their own two feet, however if they have a problem she is there to give her love and support without enabling them. Most of all she is the most wonderful caring caregiver of my two precious grandchildren giving them lots of love and attention. She is also my friend and confidant. We often share our concerns and joys and pray over them. she is truly one of a kind.

Maureen Numerich

Church: Life In Christ Christian Church, Owosso

Nominated by Heather of Owosso
I don't know how you write a short paragragh about someone so special. Maureen is not only a Pastor's wife but a mother, a mentor, a friend, an organizer, a teacher. When you are looking for someone to laugh, she is it. If you are looking for someone to listen, she it it. If you are looking for someone to help you, she is it. If you are looking for someone to encourage you, she is it. She steps in where ever needed and NEVER complains. She is one of the most positive people I know always looking for the good in ALL situations. You won't can't find a better person to give this gift too. She would never ask for it because she goes with out for everyone else. She is AMAZING!

Donna Smith

Church: Evangel Life Assembly of God, Bad Axe

Nominated by Brenda of Bad Axe
Last Christmas eve, December 24, 2009, Pastor and Donna's son(Christopher) died while on duty in Iraq. He left behind a lovely young wife and small son. This has been unbelievably tragic for Donna this last year. Christmas was always her favorite season until this happened. She has (with God's strength and grace) kept going and been strong and supportive of our church through it all. She even helped me co-chair our children's Christmas pagaent. Shortly after the funeral, a fill-in speaker told us one Sunday that we needed to do 3 things to help Pastor and Donna get through the loss of their son: pray, protect, and prosper them. I have been trying to do that. That is why I am nominating Donna.

Cyndi Ball

Church: Brighton First United Methodist Church

Nominated by Amanda of Howell
Cyndi is new to our congregation. Her husband, Pastor John, joined us last summer. They have 2 beautiful children, Dylan and Braeden. Braeden is autistic. Cyndi is still living with Braeden in their previous home, as they get him ready for the transition to Brighton, while John is in Brighton. One of the things I admire the most about her - she absolutely loves her husband and her children. I have gotten to know her mostly by conversations on Facebook, and look forward to getting to know her better in the next few years. She and her husband are a wonderful example of a loving couple. She is in church every Sunday with the boys, always with a warm smile. It warms my heart to see Cyndi and John reminding each other how much they love each other thru their open comments to each other on facebook - or catching them holding hands at church. In a time where couples with simple problems are divorcing or giving up... her strength is a blessing to us all.

Kay Parker

Church: Lapeer Free Methodist Church

Nominated by Sarah of Lapeer
Our pastor's wife, Kay, has stood alongside her husband, Paul, in ministry over the last 27 years. They have planted churches, revived broken situations and allowed God to move through them into the lives of every person they've worked with. Ten months ago, their lives changed forever. Pastor Paul had an old shoulder injury that needed to be addressed. Through complications with the surgery and recovery, his short term memory has been affected, while migraines and seizures have become an almost weekly occurrence. After months of testing and consultations, Pastor Paul and Kay were told last week that, pending a miracle, the damage to his brain was irreversible. On Sunday morning, they stood together and addressed the congregation with confidence: "God is a God of miracles and we will continue to trust Him with our futures."
Throughout the entire process, Kay has remained a pillar of strength. She is confident in God's love, mercy and plan for her husband's life. As Pastor Paul and Kay seek God together, they continue to serve as a reminder to those around them of His unfailing power.

Nominated by Rich of Lapeer
Thank you Smile FM for this opportunity to honor our pastor’s wife. With your help we would like to honor Kay Parker of Lapeer. Kay is married to Paul Parker and serving at the Free Methodist Church in Lapeer. Kay is an amazing godly woman. This past year has been an unusually difficult for the Parkers. Kay’s husband Pastor Paul is currently dealing with a brain injury and is on a medical leave of absence. During this time, Kay has been a wonderful example of trusting God, faithfulness and grace. She has continued to fill all the roles God has called her to in the church. Some examples include; leading a worship team, chaperoning a youth mission trip, helping a new children’s ministry leader get established, and working in VBS just to name a few. Kay is always working hard to bring out the best in others, while never seeking to bring attention or credit to herself. She is a great example of Christ's love to her church family, children and grandchildren. In addition to these duties she works very hard as the executive assistant to the church conference superintendent. As executive assistant, Kay is the daily connection to all the churches in the East Michigan Conference. She serves each church in the conference.
Although all pastor’s wives deserve to be honored, I think Kay Parker would have to be at the top of the list. It would be so nice if something unexpected and good could happen to her. This small act of kindness from SMILE.FM and Imlay City Gem and Diamond would not only bless Kay, but would also be a blessing to those of us that wish we could do more for her. The Pearls would be fantastic, but even more valuable than any Pearls, are the prayers of the SMILE.FM staff, family and listeners. Please hold the Parkers up before the lord. Things happen when God’s people pray.

Sandee Cyphers

Church: Rives Baptist Church, Rives Junction

Nominated by Cheryl of Eaton Rapids
My family met Sandee when we left our church of 18 years due to some major persecution from church leaders. Our whole family was in a very fragile state and hurting deeply. We started going to our new church and we immediately welcomed by Sandee with an overpowering love, a I Cor. 13 love; she is patient, kind, she does not envy or boast. She is not easily angered and rejoices in the truth. Although I have known many pastor's wives through out my life, Sandee is the first one to reach out to me and my family in a way that truly is an example of God's love. As she strives each day to be the child God desires, she inspires me to live each day in the arms of my Father, as well.

Nominated by Erica of Cadillac
Dawn McConnell is one of the most amazing people. Not only does she have 3 children whom have grown up and moved on to be the greatest they can be, she also raised a son whom had many disabilities. She is one of the most amazing people in my life because she took me in just like I was her daughter. She represents herself very well every Wednesday to worship practice, every Sunday to service, as well as she puts effort into the children's ministry at our church. She also works a job to support her and her husband. I cannot say enough nice things about Dawn McConnell because they just continue to run through my mind over and over again! Thank you Dawn for everything you have done! I love you!

Nominated by Brandon of Cadillac
My pastor's wife has got to be the best one out there! Every Sunday she greets everybody with a huge smile, a warm hug or a soft handshake. She routinely helps me with my youth ministry every week on top of fulfilling her own duties of worship practice, running our chapter of Angel Food Ministries, cleaning and decorating church, helping out with children's ministry, clerical work, and helping out anywhere else she's needed. On top of all that, this marvelous woman works a regular job and calls a majority of our congregation daily to lift them up and encourage them. I thank God for her and give her my vote for pearls!

Nominated by Sarah of Cadillac
Dawn is beautiful inside and out. She exudes godliness and is filled with the holy spirit. Even when she's ill, she is smiling and serving God. She has a beautiful voice with which she sings on our praise team. She helps with children's church. She leads our women's Bible study group. She coordinates Angel Food ministries... The list goes on. She is a helping hand, an encouraging word, a reassuring smile to all she encounters. She is loved by many. God shines through her!

Rena Story

Church: Shiawassee Harvest Church, Corunna

Nominated by Crystie of Owosso
When the church secretary quit, Rena was asked to take the job. She quit her job at a bank to be our secretary. When the church was affected by the economy, she decided to work without pay. She gives her all to a job she is not paid for and also leads a women's Bible study and non-food pantry at the church. On Sundays she is one of the teachers in the kids classroom. She also finds time to visit and call church members. She is truly "the mother" of our church family.

Bonnie Kissling

Church: Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church

Nominated by Laura of Fowler
Bonnie Kissling is the most caring woman I know. She is the mother of five children, two of which are in college, and a devoted wife. She does so many wonderful things for so many people, and is always there to lend a helping hand. Bonnie has led every young women's group that I have been in and I wouldn't have it any other way. She genuinely cares about all the people that attend the church and she welcomes new visitors with open arms. Bonnie is a sweet and kind woman who for a long time has been dealing with hearing not only my problems but other peoples as well, and I think it is time she got a little recognition for it.

Our Pastor is a better Pastor because of his wonderful wife.

Pam Jaymes

Church: Howell Church of the Nazarene

Nominated by Rhonda of Pinckney
In December of 2008 Pam Jaymes, wife of Pastor Jon Jaymes at Howell Church of the Nazarene, donned her basketball jersey, shades and bling and performed a Rap music special in our church’s annual Dinner Theater. Two weeks ago, when Pam was out of town and unbeknownst to her, a picture of her face was taped to a cardboard cutout of Elvis’ body and she was placed on the stage to “accompany” the youth director as she delivered the church announcements. Pam perpetuated the joke the following week by giving the announcements with a picture of Elvis’ face held firmly in front of her own. While her humor and good-natured attitude abounds, Pam’s compassion for the lost and the women of the church shines through just as strongly. The women of HNC attended the Free to Be Real Women’s Conference this past fall and I realized what an appropriate conference that is for our ladies, because every week Pam shows us what it means to be a Christian woman who is free to be real. Under Pam’s leadership, the women at Howell Nazarene are confident to step out and be ourselves, fully embracing the women God has created us to be. We love you Pam, our Rapper, our Elvis (nicknamed Pamvis), our champion of the family, our beloved pastor’s wife.

La Tiscia Lackey

Church: Cross Community Church, Romeo

Nominated by Melinda of Imlay City
Our Pastor's wife is truly the Proverbs 31 woman and more. She does everything at the church including..... youth, women's, she is the one to fill in for children's church when there isn't anyone to do it, she does nursery duty and she works in the office. She is an example to all on how to treat her husband and she is a wonderful mother to three school aged children (which she gets off to school everyday during her busy day.) She is a great counselor and teacher. She is a bargain shopper and is always looking for the best deal on everything!!! She went through a time when her health wasn't doing well and you would never have known it unless she told you and even then you still couldn't really tell.... she pushes beyond and keeps doing what she needs to do! I have grown to really love and respect her and wouldn't know what to do if she wasn't in my life.

Nominated by Deana of Allenton
We love Miss Tiscia not only for the way she is able to hold the operations of the church together but even more so because of her love for the Lord. Anyone who meets her can sence the Holy Spirits presence and her surrender to do His work. Tiscia is never to busy to take the time and listen, help or share some knowledge. She teaches the youth at our church and continually pours love and support into their lives. We thank God he has chosen her to be there for all of us.

Merilyn Ruthig

Church: Mason Community Church

Nominated by Doug of Eaton Rapids
Merilyn is our youth pastor at Mason Community Church. I heard on the radio that it did not have to be the Pastors wife. She is not the Pastor's wife. We have three services going at our church now, one on Sat evening and two on Sun. Merilyn is there every second as well as during the week. She is very commited to mentoring and teaching our youth the word of God. She really deserves a big thank you for all of her hard work.

Brenda Byers

Church: Genesis, Petoskey

Brenda is the wife of Norm Byers. Norm is the Pastor at Genesis Church in Petoskey.
Brenda is a wonderful mom, friend and person. I know how scheduled her time is, but she makes time for everyone. She is the main person in charge of the Back to School Jam in Petoskey. She does an awesome job. It takes a lot of preperation, but what a blessing to the community. She is a very compassionate person and I am so happy to call her my friend.

Leeanna Martin

Church: Living Hope, Alpena

Nominated by Lisa of Alpena
Leanna is truly a blessing. She inspires me to be a better person. It is evident that God is working through Leanna as she interacts with others, as she leads us in prayer and worship, as she shares her struggles and convictions, and by the way she looks at her husband and children. Leanna loves unconditionally, just like Jesus loves us. She is a wonderful example of a Christian woman, and I am blessed to be able to learn from her.

Nominated by Shelia of Alpena
Leanna is a wonderful example of a wife and mother. She selflessly gives of her time and her family has their whole life dedicated to the mission of our church which is "To turn ordinary people into passionate followers of Christ" She has worked hard to get her counseling degree so that she could help the many hurt and broken people that come through the doors. She changed my life and the lives of many others in our community. We could never repay her for all her support and time but I want her to know how much it is appreciated that she honors her God and Father by being a diligent and faithful servant.

Tanya Hardaway

Church: Pathway Community Church, Jackson

Nominated by Shannon of Jackson
After growing up in the church, I believed that pastors’ wives were all soft-spoken, passive and faultless. When I met Tanya Hardaway, I was shocked to realize she was none of those things. She is passionate, assertive and real. She sets an amazing example in her marriage and as a parent but still makes mistakes. I see Jesus amplified in every area of her life. I never would have believed I’d be friends with a pastor’s wife, but over the past three years, Tanya has become one of my best friends and I thank God for that.

My Pastor's wife is beyond special, Alisa is an inspiration. She is always lending a helping hand to those in need and her smile gives everyone a warm welcoming feeling. Alisa teaches the youth girls at our church and fills them with The Word, encourages them, and empowers them to face everyday challenges with a Christian mind set. She is a very strong and supportive wife sticking by her husbands side. With Alisa's support and dedication our new church, Crossroads, has had over 50 people commit themselves to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ this past year. My daughter and myself were 2 of the saved souls who accepted Jesus into our lives with many thanks to Alisa.

Becky Childs

Church: Midland Evangelical Free Church

Nominated by Kayla of Midland
Mrs. Childs is always giving of herself. She spends quality time listening to people and giving advice to those in need. And if you just need a hug - she is the first to come up and hug you, and if you don't need a hug she'll hug you anyway. Personally she has helped me develop my relationship with God. She is always there to give me advice and encourage me in my daily walk with Christ. I really appreciate her and I notice the things she does for others, not just me. She always has time to talk and I see people everyday have their lives affected by Mrs. Childs loving and caring heart.

Kathy Dumont

Church: Christ Church, East Lansing

Nominated by Tammy of Haslett
Kathy Dumont wears many hats. She has been a dedicated pastor's wife for almost 20 years, working together with her husband to do God's work. Kathy not only works in hospitality, but also steps up in any area that has a need; from children's church to also supporting and working at the church ministry of Summit Christian Academy which serves grades K-12 in Christian Education. Kathy always goes above and beyond the call of duty, is raising 5 children as well as hosting foreign exchange students. Her home is always open, and she has always been content to aid and serve others. Even though Kathy must share her husband with so many others, she never fails to listen to his dreams for the church and in support of that, helps him look to the future and see his dreams mirror her own and become a reality. Being the Pastor's wife is a life-work that often requires her to keep long hours, and shoulder the many pressures that come with helping her husband to run a church. Kathy guides, and provides visionary leadership to many and is a blessing to the body of Christ.

Leeanne Lane

Church: Glen Memorial Baptist, St. Ignace

Nominated by Cayla of St. Ignace
Kind, gracious, caring, helpful, nurturing, and loving.... these are just some of the words that come to mind to describe the Godly woman I am about to tell you about! As a mother of 5, Leeanne is used to having a full and noisy household. Yet, her home is always open and welcome for more visitors. Her love for fellowship is something we all admire about her! She has been a huge spiritual mentor to me as well as many others. No matter what problems she may be facing in her own life, she is constantly checking in on others and encouraging them as needed! I guess i will add one last thing as I close this "short" story, which doesn't do her or God nearly enough justice, and that is her relationship love for her husband and for God! When I look at them I see the meaning of "true love" and a relationship that has God at the center! God has done a great work in bringing Leeanne up in His image and I can only pray that, with God's help, I may grow into a Godly woman like we all see in her!

Corrie Hitchcock

Church: Westwood Church of God, Kalamazoo

Nominated by Lisa of Mattawan
I was the wife of the Senior Pastor. He became ill with H1N1 while on our vacation and was admitted to a hospital down in Naples, FL. He was put on a ventilator for 44 days and ultimately passed away. During that time away from home, Corrie, our Music Pastor's wife, made four trips from Michigan to Florida to be with me. She is a critical care nurse and helped me to understand what my husband was going through medically. She also was my constant support, prayer partner, and rock. I couldn't have made it through such a difficult time without her and her ministry to me. God saw fit to take my husband of 24 years home, but He blessed me with a strong friend in Corrie.

Shelina Bowman

Church: Marlette Methodist

Linda Storey

Church: Place of Refuge Ministries, Fowlerville

Nominated by Cindy of Webberville
WOW! Where to start? 10 years ago, Linda took me under her wing. She loved me when I was difficult to love and never judged me. God uses her to teach unconditional love by and thru her actions. She has become a Spiritual Mother to many of the women at our Church. Her love for Christ is evident in all she does. This is hard to put it into writing without all the details but I am convinced that God has used this woman (and her husband) to save my life. I was on a one-way street headed straight to self destruction and I am certain that if the Lord had not allowed our paths to cross, I would not still be here. I know God has a plan for all of our lives, and today, I am grateful I’m still here to experience that plan. Thank you Jesus for Linda! Philippians 1:3

Jill Reynolds

Church: First Baptist of Capac

Nominated by Lana of Capac
I know it will seem biased, but I really do have the best pastor's wife to know. She is always there when you need her. She gives good biblical advice, right from the bible, whether it's what you want to hear or not. If it's not, it's because my heart is not right and she's still there for me. I borrowed a skirt from her and told her how much I liked it when I returned it. A few weeks later, she handed me a bag and had gotton me one just like it. She does special things for everyone and is absolutly fantastic with the kids. She is a model of a wife that I wish I could be and a fabulous mother, which if you knew her 4 daughters you would see because they're as beautiful and as sweet as she is. My boys have her for Wed. night and Sunday School and say she is the nicest and very giving. I feel very blessed that the lord has lead me to her, Pastor and my whole church faimly.

Lynette Beeler

Church: Faith Gospel Tabernacle, Bad Axe

Nominated by Laurie of Bad Axe
Lynette works endlessly as pastors wife, praise and worship leader, childrens church teacher, youth leader and church office aide. She has three beautiful children and work outside the home part time. Lynette has a passion for Christ and always puts others before herself. She is so real about her relationship to Christ that it's oozes out. I love her and admire her zeal.

Nominated by Aaron of Cass City
Where do I start? Lynette is an awesome woman of God who you just love hanging out with. She is full of God's love and it permeates into you when you are with her. She will always have a positive word for you. She is very dedicated to our church. She performs all aspects of the church secretary, youth leader (in which the youth love her), and she also oversees the decorating in the church. If she sees that we are lacking in any area, she will fill it until there is someone willing and able to take over. She also works outside the home to help her family finances. She has a family consisting of three daughters and one active puppy. She is also a great mother. It shows in her children. Our Pastor tells us over and over of how fortunate he is to have her as a wife. We cannot disagree. We love both of them and she is a great support for Pastor.

Leslye Scheller

Church: Family Worship Center, Grass Lake

Nominated by Deanna of Grass Lake
Leslye is truly a gem. She is encouraging, generous, loving, dedicated and most importantly a genuine servant. Lesye has been such a blessing to our church family, we would be lost without her. As far as the Proverbs 31 woman goes, she is about as close as you can get.
Leslye works a full time job along with about 1.5-2 hours spent commuting back and forth. As if that wasn't enough, she does a spectacular job taking care of her family and being a true helpmate to her husband, Andy. Don't think that she stops there. Leslye is involved in many servant opportunities within the church body, as well as ministries like worship and the preschool program. She is truly a fabulous example for us all through her humble, quiet leadership. She supports Andy as he shepherds God's family. Not to mention that she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this year in May. Like she didn't have enough going on.
One thing that really stands out with Leslye is that she LOVES jewelry. She always looks amazing wherever she goes, she takes pride in the way she presents herself. However, you will never see her without accesories. There is always a special pair of shoes, purse, jewelry that goes with each of her ensembles. So when I saw this contest, I thought, this is Leslye. She could really use this blessing, literally. Please consider sending her a pair of those special earrings to this special lady.

Diana Snyder

Church: Covenant Life Church, Lapeer

Nominated by Kristen of Montrose
My pastor's wife is awesome. She is essence of a Godly woman. She supports our pastor when he follows the spirit's leading and is a wonderful supportive wife to him. She is a wonderful listener and source of encouragement. She makes laundry soap for our church using the recipe on the Duggar family website (from TLC). She is one of the biggest prayer warriors I know. She is a very transparent woman in that her life and spiritual lessons learned are out in the open for the rest of us to learn from. She has an angelic quality that we all love about her. She is truly a wonderful example of Godliness and a role model for the rest of us.

Martha Sutfin

Church: Zion United Church of Christ, Brutus

Nominated by Kelly of Alanson
Not only does Martha love and support our pastor (he can be a character!), she loves the lord. She also is our organist, music director, and choir director. Pastor LeRoy and Martha also manage an Adult Foster Care home for up to 6(?). How she finds time to do all of the duties of running a foster home AND choose the music for Sunday service, is beyon me. Martha sacrifices so much of herself for others in so many ways, it would be so nice if she could have a pair of earings!

Carolyn Bira

Church: Holy Cross Lutheran, Flushing

Nominated by Jean of Flushing
Carolyn never stops. She is not only the pastor's wife, she is the Educational director for our Sunday School, she teaches adult bible study on Sunday, she has a small group, she does special readings for the congregation like during Advent. She teaches theophostic prayer, runs the Sunday morning video cameras for our website so shut-ins can enjoy the service also. She also coordinates funeral dinners.
She is a loving wife, mother of two girls and grandmother to 2 busy boys. She is a wonderful friend and spiritual guide. She is most definitely the "pearl" of Holy Cross Lutheran in Flushing, MI.

Courtney Walls

Church: Gagetown Church of the Nazarene
Nominated by Lauren of Gagetown
First off, Courtney has changed my life and many other kids lives tremendously. I thank God everyday that I have someone so wise teaching me about him. Our youth group consists of many different types of kids. Most of them dont even go to that church, and neither do I. They accept everyone. The church gave me a home when I had no where to go. My home church is slowly dieing. Our sunday school consists of nine kids. The thing I like most about Courtney is that everything she does, she does out of love for us and God. She always tells us how much she wants us to succeed in life and achieve everything we could have ever dreamed of. Shes constantly encouraging us to do better and I look forward to listening to her week after week.

Deb Kellett

Church: Bethel Church, C&MA, Marlette
Nominated by Mary of Cass City
My husband and I lost our son suddenly in September. Our Pastor's wife came to care for things in our home, help clean and assist with visitors through and past the funeral, even though they had a death in their family to attend. When they returned from their funeral, she "picked up the ball" again and spent special time with our 12 year old girl, giving her a hankie to use when she isn't there to cry on her shoulder. She never hesitates to dig deeper to make sure you are "getting" into the Word. She recently was trained by my husband to drive the church bus and got her license so she could help take the teens on their winter retreat. I love that she has worked so hard, as a new pastor's wife at out church, to help our family and church family.

Rachael Dummit

Nominated by Penni of Pinckney
Pastor's Wife's Name: Rachael Dummit
Church: 2142 Community Church, Brighton
I come from a very large family, I am an only child of my mother. Our family has grown to over 1500 people, we have grown and now have a second campus in Ann Arbor. This is my church family of course. I wish I could say that I have a personal relationship with my Pator's wife. Unfortunately I do not. Just the same, I as well as many members of our church love and respect her dearly. Rachael Dummit ,Pastor Dave's wife is also part of the church administration, Director of "Weetopia", early childhood. Many are blessed with her involvement, my children are now grown. The reason I love her dearly is because she is an obvious blessing from God. As beautiful as she is outside you can see her inner beauty through her husband's teaching to our church family Sunday mornings! May God bless her.

Jody Mills

Nominated by Lavonda of Howell
Pastor's Wife's Name: Jody Mills
Church: Wildfire Ministries of Morrice
I have never see a person so quick to run to the aid of one their sheep in distress. John and Jody have brought the homeless into their home till a place could be found for them, and they have four children of their own, who love them very much. Daily Jody has cared for her sister-in-law, who is going through the cancer thing. They have helped those who have lost their homes by fire; those who have lost a loved one; the youth love them and hang around them all the time. Their home is an open home. And very often their caring has to come from their own pocket. They are a young exploding church. Jody is an excellent cook and so does much of the cooking for church activities and for the weddings and the funerals they have in their church. She is such an awesome reflection of the God she serves.

Donna Luke

Nominated by Julie of Petersburg
Pastors Wife's Name: Donna Luke
Mrs. Donna Luke is the most gracious, sweetest, caring and thoughtful lady I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. And she is a true lady in every sense of the word. If everyone could aspire to emulate Mrs. Luke, this would truly be a better world.
She has served here, in Monroe, along side of her husband, Pastor Sam A. Luke at the Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center for nearly six years. And while they have both had plenty of reason to leave this area, they are both dedicated to the Lord, his calling on their lives in both ministry and Monroe. I believe that God has great things planned for Monroe, and I believe that these servants of the Most High God are right at the Center of His perfect will and the epicenter of all He has planned for a great awakening and outpouring of His Spirit upon our Sons and Daughters.
Mrs. Luke has endured both personal and public pain and situations beyond her control as the enemy has viciously attacked the Ministers and their Ministry in their time here. But both are firmly committed to reaching the Lost here in Monroe and are preparing for victory in Jesus Name as He uses the Disciples in the highest area of unemployment to Bless a Community, state and nation.
If there was one human I would hope to aspire to be more like, it would be the gracious, honorable, Mrs. Donna Luke.
