Last Christmas eve, December 24, 2009, Pastor and Donna's son(Christopher) died while on duty in Iraq. He left behind a lovely young wife and small son. This has been unbelievably tragic for Donna this last year. Christmas was always her favorite season until this happened. She has (with God's strength and grace) kept going and been strong and supportive of our church through it all. She even helped me co-chair our children's Christmas pagaent. Shortly after the funeral, a fill-in speaker told us one Sunday that we needed to do 3 things to help Pastor and Donna get through the loss of their son: pray, protect, and prosper them. I have been trying to do that. That is why I am nominating Donna.
