Church: Charlotte Assembly of God
Nominated by Alisha of Charlotte
Laura is the most caring, selfless woman I know. Not only is she an incredible mother, leader, & role model she somehow seems to stretch herself beyond the average human is capable! I have been attending her church since I accepted Christ a year and half ago.In that time she's went above & beyond my expectations too many times to count! She has helped my sister inlaw who gave birth to twins & had a toddler at home. Laura would not only minister to her & befriend her she brought meals offered rides & to babysit so showers naps & groceries could be acheived & arranged a team of ladies to do the same so she always had help while she recovered & adjusted to having 3 in diapers. Laura is always available to our congregation & even to the point of when my grandfather was ill she was there for comfort advice & ministry to my family even though her family was going through an identical situation. Two days before my grandfather passed my mother went to Laura seeking comfort & while talking told her " your family has been through a lot. You are so wise & loving. You guys are amazing people with amazing children and we thank you" lauras reply was " were just people" what a humble woman and family. This reminds me of James 4:10 "humble yourselves before the lord & he will lift you up in honor" yes Laura may just be a person but to me, my family, and the congregation at Charlotte Assembly of God she is so much more. She is the priceless super woman of god that we cherish.Thank You Laura for all you do.

Laura is a soft-spoken woman, with a great heart. She, and her husband, Pastor Mark Woodbury, left their successful secular jobs when they felt God was telling them to begin pastoring. They have been at Charlotte Assembly of God for over 20 years now, and have rarely accepted raises because of their unselfish nature, and their desire to use the churches resources to reach the lost of our community. Laura is the adoptive mother of three children who are now between the ages of 3 and 10. Laura, and Pastor Mark adopted these children after being their foster parents. Laura is a great mom, and a woman who never complains, or asks the church for anything. Mrs. Woodbury is very unselfish, and always puts others before herself. Pastor Woodbury works long, inconstant hours, and often has to put others before his wife and children. Laura loves God, and wholeheartedly accepts his plan for her, which is to be the supportive, loving Pastors wife that she is.
